Book Proofs and Author Copies
At Imprint Digital, we understand how important it is for authors to ensure their book is perfect before going to print. That’s why we offer a variety of book proofs (also called author copies) to help you review your book in detail.
Whether checking the layout with a digital proof, assessing the accuracy and quality of a printed proof, or reviewing a hardback proof copy, our digital and printed proofs give you the confidence that your book is exactly as you envisioned.
Author copies allow you to see and hold your work as your readers will, providing a preview before the main print run. It is essential to double-check your proof, as the main print run will be based on the proof. We can accept as many changes as you like after the proof copy, such as new text and cover files. Perhaps you want to amend the paper or change the finish; that is absolutely fine. We can work with you to make sure the book is perfect.
Digital Proof
Digital proofs are the first step in ensuring your book is print-ready. These electronic files allow you to review your manuscript exactly as it will appear once printed, allowing you to check for layout, colour, font accuracy, and any potential errors. Digital proofs are fast, convenient, and cost-effective, providing a detailed preview before moving forward with physical production. It’s a crucial step to ensure your final product is flawless.
Printed Proof
Hardback proofs are produced as a sewn hardback book to give you a true representation of your finished product. With this option, you can review your hardback book, including the cover material, spine, binding, and overall durability.
It’s essential to ensure that premium books, like hardbacks, meet your exact specifications before final production. This proof lets you assess the luxury finish and physical quality, ensuring your hardback book exceeds expectations. Foil blocking and Spot UV is not included in hardback proofs.
