Perfect Binding (Paperback/Softcover)

Perfect binding, used for our paperback books, involves using a thick paper/cardboard cover, which is adhered to the text block with strong glue (either EVA or PUR). We utilize a 240gsm card for the cover, laminated in either gloss, matt or soft-touch matt for durability and aesthetic appeal. The book’s text can be printed on various paper stocks, catering to different needs – from uncoated 80gsm paper for novels and non-fiction works to 170gsm coated paper for photo-rich publications.

This binding method is ideal for authors looking for a cost-effective solution without compromising on quality. Perfect-bound books are popular due to their professional appearance and affordability, making them a frequent choice for books sold online and in bookstores. Additionally, we offer various enhancements like embossing, spot UV, foil blocking, and cover flaps to make your book stand out.

  • Page Count Guidelines: Suitable for 20 to 800 pages.
  • Turnaround Times: Approximately 5-7 business days.
  • Price Range: Cost-effective; varies based on page count and customization options.
  • Best For: Novels, non-fiction books, photo books.

Hardback Binding (Casebound/Hardcover)

Our hardback books are thread-sewn blocks encased in 2750-micron heavy card instead of a paper or card cover. This board is then elegantly wrapped in a cloth wibalin cover or a printed paper case. Cloth-bound books typically feature a design printed on the wibalin or include eye-catching gold or silver blocking. These books often have a dust jacket for added protection and aesthetic value.

Hardback binding is a premium choice for special titles or books intended to endure for generations. While more expensive than perfect binding, hardback books offer enhanced durability and a more luxurious feel. All our hardback books are thread-sewn as standard.

  • Page Count Guidelines: Ideal for 50 to 800 pages.
  • Turnaround Times: Typically 15-20 business days, depending on customization.
  • Price Range: Premium pricing reflects the durable and high-quality finish.
  • Best For: Special editions, high-end publications, archival books.

Saddle-Stitched Binding (Booklet)

Saddle-stitched binding, ideal for smaller publications like booklets, brochures, and magazines, involves folding sheets of paper and stapling them along the fold line. This method is cost-effective and well-suited for documents with fewer pages. Our saddle-stitched products offer a professional finish, perfect for marketing materials and quick references.

  • Page Count Guidelines: Best for smaller booklets, up to 64 pages.
  • Turnaround Times: Rapid, often within 3-5 business days.
  • Price Range: This is the most affordable option, great for bulk orders.
  • Best For: Brochures, magazines, event programs.

Sewn Binding (hardback and Paperback)

We offer sewn binding for publications requiring exceptional durability and a touch of elegance. This traditional technique involves sewing the pages together in sections, strengthening the book’s structure. Sewn binding is often used in high-quality hardcover books, making it an excellent choice for special editions or archival materials.

  • Page Count Guidelines: Effective for 40 to 800 pages.
  • Turnaround Times: Varies, usually 10-15 business days, due to intricate work.
  • Price Range: Higher due to the durability and quality of binding.
  • Best For: Premium novels, academic books, heirloom quality books.
